Turmoil spreads when the rumours break out across the nation about the sightings of the brotherhood of mythical men, the Shadow Whisperers. Created a thousand years ago, they live and thrive to destroy the Book of Immortality and all the elements leading to it.

When Edwina Raethlov learns who they are after, she runs away to find Beijikt, a monster who had once cloaked all the three elements to safety. With a group of bandits by her side, she is determined to change the course of those hunters.

But they aren't the only ones searching for the books. The Fenris, the ones responsible for the creation of the Book, want it for themselves, but not for the same reasons as Edwina's fiance, Amarcus Volveick.
